EAE Madrid announces the winner of the IV Edition of the CEO Challenge 2023

EAE Madrid held the final of its IV edition of the CEO Challenge with the participation of Jesús Bueno, Managing Director of Legends Iberia

EAE Madrid has held the IV edition of its CEO Challenge, a competition in which students with executive profiles were able to experience "being CEO for a day". Through two mock sessions, a jury formed by experts in the field decided that this year's winner would be Michelle Barrios, a student of the Master in Management.

As a result, the student will accompany this year's guest CEO, Jesús Bueno, Managing Director in Spain and Portugal of Legends Iberia, for a full day of work. "It has been a pleasure to participate in the CEO Challenge and to see how young people prepare themselves for new challenges from an executive side. I am very grateful, it has been a lot of fun and we have had very good interventions", says the Director.

The meeting began with a first session traditionally led by Jaime Ozores, Senior Manager in Treasury and Risks at Indra, who maintained his role as moderator during the final. The jury was formed by this figure, together with CEO Jesús Bueno, Esther González -Director of the Master in Human Resources Executive and MBA Professor- and Lizbeth Pérez, Director of Marketing and Communication at ONGD Fiet Gratia and winner of the last edition of CEO Challenge, who assured to be very excited about being part of the jury.

During the final, several tests were carried out. First, each student made a two-minute elevator pitch, which was scored by the jury. After the speeches, they tackled a case study, which consisted of a real-time simulation: the students would be part of a management committee of a company that needs to make a complex decision.

Although each student had different roles such as project manager, operations manager, marketing manager, economic-financial analyst or human resources manager, what was really important was the assumption of the role they had been assigned within the management committee. During the re-enactment, they developed their particular analysis for the final decision.

"It was an honour for me to win the 4th edition of the CEO Challenge. It has been a wonderful opportunity and now I am one step closer to my future, to my dreams and, above all, to one day become the CEO of a company," concluded Michelle Barrios, EAE Madrid's Master's in Management student and winner of this year's contest.
